  Electricity power generation starts 25 August 2008
 

Lakshmi Energy and Foods Limited has announced successful commission of its Biomass husk based Power Project as the export of electricity to government grid has started. With this, the Company's (LEAF) dream of contributing "Green Power" to the Nation has become reality. The world class modern plant is based on husk as fuel and husk required by this plant is produced by LEAF itself from its paddy shelling operations. The Power Plant is also entitled to earn Carbon Credit under Kyoto Protocol which will further add to the Company's bottom line. This marks the beginning of new era for LEAF in which besides contributing food for masses the company will now also supplement the "green power" requirements of its nation. As always, the Company will continue to strive for excellence in its performance.
